Colonial Downs Oktoberfest

Come join us as we celebrate Oktoberfest and help us toast to the end of Summer!
We capture the spirit of the festival with a four-course meal which includes some of the traditional German favorites. Each course is paired expertly with a craft beer brewed locally by one of our local Brewpubs “The Vanguard”.

NOTE: There will be a welcome beer (4 oz pour) and then a sample size beer (4 oz pour) served with each of the paired food items. Each guest will receive two beer tickets for a full pour (16 oz) beer of their choosing. (A glass of wine may be substituted for a full pour beer).

Chasing Ferris Wheels Belgian Wit
Brewed with orange peel, coriander, and chamomile, this Belgian-style wheat beer packs a lot of flavors into an easy-to-drink summer thirst-quencher. 5% ABV
1st course: Pretzels & Pickles
House-made pretzel, assorted pickles, bourbon mustard
Oktoberfest
A copper-colored lager brewed for the warm days and cool nights of a Hampton Roads autumn. Bready malts and earthy hops combine to create a balanced, drinkable beer. 6% ABV
2nd course: Sausage trio
Knackwurst, bratwurst, smoked sausage. Served with sauerkraut and German potato salad
House Beer - 2020 VCBG Gold Medal Winner
Kölsch-style ale designed to be easy drinking, but still full of bready malt flavor and floral aromas from the German hops. 5% ABV
3rd course: Jägerschnitzel
Pork schnitzel with savory mushroom gravy. Served with braised red cabbage and pan fried spätzle.
Schwarzbier
This lager is black in color but light in body making this an easy drinker with a hint of chocolate. 5.6% ABV
Dessert: House-made Apple Strudel
Served with bourbon caramel sauce
Pumpkin Creamsicle Ale
We added pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, and cut and scraped vanilla beans to a blonde ale base. Tastes just as the name suggests, notes of pumpkin, spices, and vanilla. Contains Lactose. 5.3% ABV
